We don’t know when that will be, but since alpha testing began in June, we’re expecting New State to be released within the next few months. From the game’s premise to its new features, we break down everything we know about it here.
We’ll keep this article updated with fresh information as it becomes available, so stay tuned to TechRadar for all the latest PUBG news. To begin, it’s important to note that PUBG: New State is not PUBG 2 (which is why we hesitate to call it a sequel). Following the release of PUBG Mobile in 2018 and PUBG Mobile Lite in 2020, it’s a new battle royale game coming only to Android and iOS.

New vehicles, gun customization along with that near-future twist are some of the things we can't wait for you to experience as we get closer to the release of PUBG: NEW STATE.
PUBG New State Launch Teaser is now Released and now Pubg New State Official Game is expected to have a number of new features, which we’ll go over in depth below, but it appears to be pretty similar to the standard PUBG experience we’ve grown to know and love.
PUBG Studio (the creators of the original PC success) is developing the game, rather than Tencent, the team behind PUBG Mobile. In many ways, the mobile version of PUBG has outperformed its larger sibling, especially in terms of income (it was the biggest grossing mobile game in May 2020), so it’s understandable that the game’s producers are focusing more on the game’s highly successful mobile user base.
Pubg New State Release Date
There hasn’t been any word on when PUBG New State will be released, but we estimate it to be sometime in 2021 for both iOS and Android.
However, players have been able to participate in timed alpha tests, with one Android Police reporter capturing an hour of gameplay (which you can find further down this storey). Although the tests have now ended, it’s a promising sign that the game’s production is nearing completion. Players may also pre-register on the Google Play store – over 17 million people have already done so – with iOS pre-registration ‘coming in Q3 2021,’ which implies sometime between July and September this year, according to the developer.
The new futuristic scenario is the first noticeable break from current PUBG titles, which are all set in the present day. Players may expect to navigate a huge town with a mix of suburban living and more natural areas in 2051 on a new map – an area dubbed Troi.
The map is 8 × 8, equal in size to Erangel and Miramar from the mainline PUBG game, and will have a town hall, eateries, and a retail mall for gamers to explore. The new map’s entire details may be found below. A complete top-down picture of the new environment is also available here.
